Market Perda Expected to Be a Pilot

City Council together with Jakarta Provincial Government have officially inaugurated Market Raperda into Perda (Regional Regulation) some time ago.

We want it to be a pilot

City Council's Deputy Head, Abraham Lunggana hopes, this Perda can be a pilot for public market development in Jakarta and other regions.

Council Wants Tight Supervision on Public Market and Supermarket Distance

"Generally, this Perda regulates public market to be more modern, advanced, and competitive towards modern market. We want it to be a pilot," he stated, Thursday (4/12).

He doesn't denying that marketing activity is still monopolized by big businessmen with their modern markets and it is indirectly impact on traditional market existence which is generally filled by small traders.

"Thus we create this Perda as one of government's responsibilities in doing a greater arrangement," he explained.

Through this Perda, he wants equality in competition between public and modern markets in the future.

"The point is, regul ation and legal certainty for businessmen have been made," he affirmed.
